People chose their own destination and decide on which path to take. There are times that these may bring a greener pasture as well as betterment for those surrounding us, but in some instance, the choice we make may lead to misunderstanding to the extent of chaos.

Being aware of the strength of the Filipino heart, it can not be denied that we could excel in any diversities of life, may it be in the field of sport, recreation or innovation. Also, this is shown in the success in reclaiming the City of Marawi from the terrorist group, Maute-ISIS, who took over the whole area in the aim of creating their own sovereignty. Many of the soldiers were deployed to the battlefield and sacrifices were made from both sides to prove each target.

Backtrack

The wilderness has undoubtedly been the refuge of those who seek peaceful environment and calm mind. Looking at the luscious scenery of the mountains and the connection of water and sky brings back the memories of my hometown.

The name of Mindanao in the south of the Philippine islands is a stigma to people foreign to the place. There are some who thinks of negative due to the report they heard from the news. However, it is a fact to know that anywhere in the world, danger could come in any time. Knowing others perspective of the area discouraged the locals to show the beauty of the place, instead, they maintain it and kept if from the world.

Despite of the chaos happening in one district, the chance to traveling back to nature is something one should not regret. The long ride may be tiresome, but the welcoming blue and green colors encourage the idea of how beautiful the world is only if humans know how to take care of it. 

As one of my those people whose relatives are living far away, it has always been a mixture of exciting adventure to go on a long trip and a relaxation to take a break from work. Changes are always visible homecoming from using lamps at high and only car batteries for televisions and radios to 6-hour rotational electric and water supply. However, the treasures of the place is still kept like the spring, giant old trees and the abundance of food that one could survive even though you have not bought any daily consumption. Indeed, this is the place to retreat.

Glow

A start of partnership comes with new begginings as a star glows to be another sun growing to enlighten each other, understanding difficulties and difference in a union of two souls for the eternity and forever.

The pastel colors brings memoirs of the youthfulness of yesterday where things were fresh and new as feelings were overwhelmingly dazzling bits of life. Dancing to the rhythm of the songs, gliding to the flow of the wind.

Road Trip

One of the most tiring but fun thing to do is to travel and the best thing is to do it with the family.

Going to my aunt’s place for their festival, we had a 2-hour drive through the asphalted road alongside the shades of green. I’d reflection on it many times, but what struck me is when mother suddenly become outspoken on her thoughts about people’s behavior on scrapping and flattening mountains for personal and industrial intentions. How beautiful it would have been if humans as we are could keep the wonders and abundance of nature.

Mothers say that having their children are the best gift they would ever receive, but these youngster would note that their moms are the ones who serves as the best treasure that is impossible to steal. This time of the month, we are all celebrating a day for this special creators, who did their best to bring us to this world and molded us to become a better person.

Some people choose to buy expensive and luxurious gifts for their moms, a kind of gift they will value and a simple one to give back to them the difficulties they have done to our new generations. However, in my case, I actually don’t want to spend a lot of money for my mother not because I am saving, but for the reason that she would end up asking me how much I spent for the present. Instead, I made personalized cupcakes for her.

At first, I was having a hard time making it a surprise for she was watching me do all the process of creating the cake – the steamed cupcake since I don’t have an oven at home. After a 30 minutes, my sister called her and she became busy attending the store in which I was thankful because I had enough time to decorate my creation with some frosting which I did for the first time. I wrote letters in each one of them and design them with some flowers. At the end, she was surprised to see my work and I was glad she liked it.

The supermoms of our lives will be the first ones to critic our works and the very first to boost us with confidence and moral values. They let us fall and accept the realities of life in order for us to stay grounded, look for a brighter future ahead of us and be brave and strong. With this I would like to extend my big thanks all the mothers in the world. HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!
